The Only Fish & Chips Worthy of a “Cor Blimey!”

Fish & Chips is an ordinary, simple pub food that most Malaysians will think twice before ordering. Why? It is simply because the ones we have here are basically, bland, dry and simply not suited to our flavourful Malaysian palette. You know what I mean. It is just not orgasmic enough to blow your mind away.

Since it is just basically fish and fries ( or as the Brits call it, ‘chips’ ), most local restaurants do not really put too much effort in prepping the fish and making sure it has the right amount of seasoning that will enhance the flavour of the fish. But, then again, we can’t blame them for not trying their very best. We, Malaysians have to just accept that the reason we keep on ‘failing’ in getting this dish right is just because we do not know how it tastes like.

Or do we?

No worries, Cor Blimey is here

Cor Blimey! Indeed

With only two outlets currently in Malaysia, Cor Blimey is considered relatively new in the niche market of fish and chips here. Sure, their only competition is just the mega seafood chain, Manhattan Fish Market and a smattering of small individual restaurants but there is one thing that makes them stand out as the only go-to Fish & Chips restaurant here in Malaysia that EVERY Malaysian must know: they KNOW their fish & chips. Period.

Simple, honest, delicious fish & chips

We are not talking about plain deep-fried battered fish fillets and a handful of soggy fries. No, we are talking about the full, authentic British fish & chips experience that includes naturally sweetened minted mushed peas and sharp, tangy tartar sauce that can make you weep and crave for some more fish & chips.

In other words, flavour on top of flavour with every bite.

Taste like home

It has always been a dream for Cor Blimey’s founder, Mr. Adam Hanrahan to introduce the best of British flavours, especially the authentic flavours of a simple fish & chips he was used to while growing up in Hampshire here in Malaysia. He believes that fish & chips is a communal food that can and should be enjoyed by everyone regardless of race, religion and belief.

You may be thinking it is quite an impossible feat to achieve since the authentic British ones use beer batter but one bite of their classic Cod fish will surprise you how sinfully delicious it can be even when it is ‘halal’.

Don’t believe us, taste it for yourselves!

Fishy Romance

Valentine’s Day is the day when romance is limited to only red roses, chocolates, dimmed lighting, soft music and sadly, pasta. For some of us who have been in a relationship for a long time, it is time for a change.

If a good time is what you are looking for this Valentine’s, Cor Blimey is the perfect setting for you and your partner to just sit, converse and enjoy your time together over Cor Blimey’s sharing platter as well as a plate of decadent fried Mars bars or apple and berry crumble.

Dinner for two? Yes, please!

That’s way better than eating in bad lighting, picking on tiny portions of food and later, going to the mamak because you are still hungry, am I right?

Let’s put the hold romance thing aside and just focus on reconnecting and getting to know your partner all over again this year’s Valentine’s.

So, place your reservations at Cor Blimey’s now to enjoy a free dessert or place an order through Foodpanda if you feel it is more romantic to just dine at home in your sweatpants and watch Ross and Rachel going on a “break”.
