That creamy, dense texture with a lemon-zesty addictive cheese flavour – it’s no wonder that Jerry the mouse’s first taste of this luscious, cartoon no-bake cheesecake made him grin with delight. To celebrate Jerry’s love of cheese and World Cheese Day, Cartoon Network Asia sent us a surprise delivery. Inside was all we need to make a no-bake cheesecake inspired by the cartoon Tom & Jerry in their 1941 episode “A Midnight Snack”. Since all Malaysians love all things cheese, especially cheesecake, we decided to give this a go.
Ding dong! The doorbell rang, and the kid ran to open the door. There at the entrance is a box.

She bent down to pick it up, holding on to the sides of the package firmly as she took it into the house.

She walked towards the kitchen and placed it on the kitchen table.

There, she examined the box. A delivery from Tom & Jerry.

What you will need to get started
Before we begin this adventure, we’ll show you what every kid and parent will need to get started. First of all, be sure to buy the ingredients. Next, ready the tools and cheese-cake mould. Lastly, allocate at last half a day for this fun activity. Please note that assembling the no-bake cheesecake with your kid would take at least 45 minutes to an hour. However, it’s the waiting for the cheesecake to set in the freezer that would take time.

3. Cut lemons in half. Next, squeeze out the juice until you can collect 40g of lemon juice.

4. In a separate big bowl, put 350g of defrosted cream cheese into the bowl. After that, use a spatula (or a big spoon) to work the cream cheese until smooth.

![It's also good arm exercise.](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee15-1024x683.jpg)
5. After the cream cheese is softened, add 50g of sugar.
![Add in the sugar.](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee16-1-1024x683.jpg)
6. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.

7. The gelatin should be set by now. So put a pot or a saucepan on the stove. Add the 40g of lemon juice into the saucepan and bring it to a simmer.
![Simmer that lemon juice.](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee18-1024x683.jpg)
8. Add the gelatin from step 2 into the simmering lemon juice and turn the heat down to low. Continue stirring until the gelatin has dissolved. Then, set aside to cool.

9. Once the lemon coulis from step 8 is cooled, pour it into the cream cheese. Keep mixing until everything is incorporated.

![You can use a whisk or a spoon.](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee22-1024x683.jpg)
10. In another big bowl, whip the whipping cream with a whisk until it foams up nicely.
![A whisk is more appropriate.](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee23-1024x683.jpg)
11.Add 1 tbsp food colouring into the mix. You can add more if you like it to have a more vibrant colour.
![Don't add too much food coloring otherwise it will be in technicolor.](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee24-1024x683.jpg)
12. Continue to whisk it until it turns into a lovely light yellow colour.
![You can add more food coloring if you like intense colors](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee25-1024x683.jpg)
13. Pour the whipping cream into the batter and gently fold the batter to mix it up.
![See the color difference?](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee26-1024x683.jpg)
14. Pour batter into the moulds and put them into the freezer to chill for about 4 hours to set.
![A cute mould is necessary.](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee27-1024x683.jpg)
![A Tom and Jerry towel is optional.](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee28-1024x683.jpg)
![Once done. Wrap it in a cling wrap and put it in the freezer.](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee29-1024x683.jpg)
15. Watch some cartoons with the kid for four hours. After the cartoon marathon, you can take the mould out of the freezer. To unmould, gently pull away the sides. Next, push the bottom of the mould up to invert the mould and push out the cheesecake. It’s now ready to be served.
![It takes some work to pop the cheesecake out of the mould but it is worth it.](https://www.butterkicap.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Butterkicap-Nobake-CheeseCake-ChoenLee30-1024x683.jpg)
Extra Tips
We like having cheesecake with durian. Feel free to serve some durian alongside the cake for an added flavor. If you like, you can also add in other fruits such as passion fruit or mulberry.
