Jom Durian 10: The Most Expensive Durian Event in 2017

This may very well be the most expensive durian event of this year, but read on and you’ll find out why this is a must-go for all durian lovers! There are options to purchase a table and also an option for the public to enter and eat at a surprisingly affordable fee.

With durian prices increasing a little every year, eating this delicious fruit is now considered as somewhat of a luxury. So, what better way to enjoy the king of fruits than to feast at an all-you-can-eat buffet? And all for a good cause, as a bonus.

Fortunately for you, we know one that will be occurring pretty soon! Next month, in Summit USJ,  Subang Jaya, the Jom Durian 10 event returns for the fourth year and the best thing is, close to eight tonnes of different varieties of durians are expected to be brought in for you hungry eaters.

With a low fee of RM40 per person, you can indulge yourselves for an entire hour in an all-you-can-eat durian buffet with your friends and family during its two public sessions on 20th August.

But, if you happen to have RM 10,000 stow away in the safety of your banks or 5-10 good friends, you can purchase tables worth RM 5,000 and RM 10,000 for a table for 10 which exclusively allows you to eat only and only Musang King, the fanciest of the fanciest of durians.

“Oh, my God, RM 10,000 for durians?!”

Don’t worry! That’s only if you are planning to purchase a table for 10. Most of the table purchase are made by corporations, but it’s also open to any generous individual donors as well.

It may be an seemingly expensive durian event, but do remember that all proceeds from the event will be given to the Children’s Wish Society and raise funds to fulfil the wishes of terminally ill children nationwide.

The event will for two days from 19th to 20th August. The first day will be exclusively for the expensive tables while on the second day, it will be opened to public. Two public sessions on 20th August are:

Session 1: 12.00pm – 1.00pm

Session 2: 1.30pm – 2.00pm

So, make sure you purchase your tickets or tables, to make sure you do not miss your chances to eat your hearts’ fill of durians this August. As of today 26th July, there are still 40 corporate tables available and over 1,600 public tickets that can still be purchased.
